Projects: Imagine Imagine
In partnership with I Speak Music and IOM (the UN Migration Agency) and with generous support from Arts Council England, we are inviting people from all over the world to participate in the creation of a brand new music video that celebrates the extraordinary contributions of displaced people and migrants to our world. The new short film will use the power of music to show our solidarity with global diverse communities, and will showcase the beautiful array of humanity on our planet.
The new song has been created by members of the I Speak Music Community Orchestra (led by Jim Pinchen and Raghad Haddad) and fuses many different styles of music including Arabic, Latin, hip hop and choral. We are giving people the opportunity to become part of the final music video for the song by filming themselves singing, playing instruments or percussion, or dancing and sharing important moments from their daily life.
Joining this unique music video project will send a powerful message of solidarity to those in refugee camps around the world, and will celebrate the contributions of displaced people during the COVID-19 pandemic. The submissions from the public will be edited together into a final film by Academy and Emmy Award nominated director Leslie Knott and acclaimed director/writer/producer Ben Gregor.
We have created a specially designed online platform for people from all over the world engage in this act of art and solidarity. To take part in this project simply go to register your interest at: www.imagineimagine.org
We are also establishing a bursary fund and asking people to donate to help cover the costs of data use as many of our participants in refugee camps and other places are living with major financial hardship.
$10 will cover the cost of one person's data and enable them to film and record themselves taking part. Your contribution is crucial to help us make this ground breaking project happen.
