Together Productions specialises in collaborative projects that unite diverse cross-disciplinary teams of individuals and organisations to develop innovative new work together. We seek to create links and understanding across sectors and divides, promoting non-hierarchical and inclusive practice that allows space for new voices, ideas and ways of seeing.
We hold a safe space for meaningful conversation and dialogue. Our programmes are led and steered by the people participating in them, as well as the organisations coming together to deliver them.
Current & Recent Collaborations
Our flagship programme has been bringing artists from diverse backgrounds together to sing, compose and perform world premieres of collaboratively composed music in major venues since 2017. In 2020 this became an international collaboration when we convened artists around the world to begin discussions about creating new work together across continents. We piloted a new international collaborative model for Under the Same Sun in 2022, bringing together a London-based company of amateurs and professionals with artists in South Africa, India and the US to compose a new work together.
We have brought together a fantastic steering group to oversee Singing For Our Minds, a new programme launched in 2021. Singing For Our minds offers music practitioners training, leadership development and supported placements/mentoring focusing on inclusive leadership and the positive benefits of singing for mental health
During lockdown we worked with a leading group of participatory arts leaders to develop a set of guiding principles for inclusive and non-hierarchical leadership that have underpinned all of our work moving forwards.
Our first global online music video in July 2020 involved participants from 15 countries including Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Ecuador, South Africa, Gaza and the USA and featured the song Walk With Me, co-written by members of the I Speak Music Community Orchestra.
We were delighted to collaborate with the King’s Singers, the music charity Soundabout that runs choirs for people with learning disabilities and disability-inclusive production company Figment Arts to create a brand new music video for Zero Discrimination Day on March 1st 2021 that received over 150000 views when it was featured on Classic FM.
The 6th new composition of the Singing Our Lives project was collaboratively composed by amateur singers and professional artists from across London and South East England. When lockdown restrictions prevented a live premiere, we bought together world-renowned vocal ensemble the King’s Singers with the Mixed Up Chorus and Sing for Freedom Choir to create a stunning music video directed by Tom Guthrie
