Join us for a Concert for Community Unity - an uplifting evening of singing, conversation, food and drink in celebration of the Mixed Up Chorus's 10th birthday.
This year our two choirs, Sing for Freedom and the Mixed Up Chorus have been exploring the concept of Belonging, and will be performing music which celebrates what this means to them. Our programme represents our 'Mixed Up' ethos, bringing together beautiful music and words from around the globe including Korean folk, American country music, a Sotho wedding song and much more.
The choirs are delighted to be joined by their friend and special guest, Hamsa Mounif, an accomplished Syrian singer with a wide range of experience. Her performances are unforgettable and we are thrilled she can join us for this event.
The concert will be followed by an opportunity to enjoy food and drink provided by the choir community, whilst connecting with friends old and new.
Join the Mixed Up Chorus for a free taster evening. In this fun and uplifting session you will have the opportunity to sing with the choir, meet Musical Director Jeremy Haneman and the team, chat with choir members and find out what MUC has in store for the Spring Term.
Founded in 2014, MUC unites audiences and singers through a love of music. The choir sings to bring together people of different beliefs, faiths, cultures and life experiences to promote understanding and empathy. We believe that when we sing well together, we live well together. Find out more about them on our Choirs page.
The Sing for Freedom Choir is welcoming new members in January 2025 and would love to invite you to join them. This free taster session is open to all, and gives you a chance to sing with the choir, meet the team and members and find out about plans for the term ahead. No experience required.
SFF is a community of torture survivors and friends who sing together in a spirit of joy and hope, in solidarity with all those who are oppressed. They sing for freedom, and to give a voice back to those who have been silenced. Find out more about them on our Choirs page.
