Jonathan Carmichael

Committee member, Sing for Freedom choir

I joined the Sing for Freedom Choir at its third rehearsal in 2016, when I worked for Freedom From Torture. I also sing in Rickmansworth Players Choir, and enjoy performing in musical theatre shows, and sometimes I return to the English church music of my youth in Leicester, England. I have recently retired from a career in healthcare management, in the NHS and various charities. Sometimes I managed services, or planned and purchased them for a population, and sometimes I led organisations. But my favourite roles were developing new services, usually crossing organisational boundaries, to get professionals working together in new ways, to enable people to stay out of hospital.

Favourite Together Productions Moment:  Seeing the joy on people's faces after our performances, when we are all taken up with the warmth and thrill of singing together. Also: seeing new singers laugh in rehearsals, as they start to feel part of our community.
