The Mixed Up Chorus
Founded in 2014, our non-auditioned community choir unites audiences and singers through a love of music. We sing to bring together people of different beliefs, faiths, cultures and life experiences to promote understanding and empathy. We believe that when we sing well together, we live well together. The choir has performed at incredible venues and events including the Southbank, at Milton Court in the Barbican, the BBC, Admiralty House, the Scoop and Union Chapel amongst others.
We welcome new members in January, April and September, and would love you to join us!
Tuesdays 7-9pm during term time (Spring term Jan - Apr, Summer term Apr-July, Autumn term Sept - Dec) in the Taylor-Basset Room at Christ Church, Highbury, Islington, North London.
Musical Director: Jeremy Haneman
Creative Producer: Holly Jones
Head of Programmes: Alexandra Godfree
The choir sings a very eclectic range of music from around the world, from secular pop and folk to classical, as well as music of many faiths often incorporating improvisation. We have sung, to date, in over 27 different languages, and with themes such as Black women composers, music from the Americas, interfaith projects and highlighting underrepresented composers and performers.
The Mixed Up Chorus is known as a joyful choir with a social conscience and a mission to make a difference in the world. The choir does many wonderful and unique collaborations with artists, musicians and ensembles from all backgrounds and is a founding member of the Singing Our Lives Project, as well as doing regular joint projects with our sister choir, Sing For Freedom.
We offer FREE taster sessions at the start of each term to anyone interested in joining - upcoming sessions can be found here.

Subscriptions
The Mixed Up Chorus is a not for profit organisation. We invite a suggested termly donation of £120 (which works out at the equivalent of £10 a week/£5 an hour) which covers the essential costs of running the choir.
If you’re under 25, it’s just a suggested donation of £25 for the full term!
We aim to be an inclusive group and operate a concessions scheme to subsidise places where possible for members who would not otherwise be able to attend due to financial barriers. To find out more about our concession rates, please enquire.
