I’ve worked in arts participation and community theatre for the past decade. I’ve established and led community and educational departments in regional theatres across my home county of Essex. I’m also a drama facilitator having worked with diverse community groups from leading special educational need youth theatres to drama workshops for people living with dementia.

I was excited when I learned about the work of Together Productions and felt instantly connected to their mission and belief that the arts can be used as a positive tool to inspire social change. I was also eager to learn about their new arts programme Together Create happening in Thurrock as I have a passion for supporting community based arts programmes that take place in Essex.

Favourite Together Productions Moment:

My favourite Together Productions moment was with the Together Create Programme whilst attending a visual arts workshop. I was able to witness a participant share with me details about her home and her culture through the simple act of drawing despite their being a language barrier between us. It really spoke to me about how the arts can be used across cultures and different communities to unite people and help them share their own stories.
